Mira Jordan
University Student & Tiny House lover …
“I grew up on an intentional community in Northern NSW and know first hand that it is a great way to live as a kid! Running free around the land, eating fruit and veggies straight from the gardens and orchards, learning how to grow food and do bush regeneration, having a bunch of “sparents”, being part of a tribe of kids even if you don’t have brothers or sisters.
Although I’m living in Sydney now, studying ecology and fine arts at uni, I see building a tiny house as part of my future. I looooove tiny houses! I’ve been researching them for a while. I like the idea that I’ll be completely self-sufficient and off the grid; and it will force me to live in a minimalist and non-capitalist way. And, I love the challenge of it, designing and building it myself. Almost like an art project. Like a puzzle.
I want to return to the land and live in community, not sure quite how that’s going to happen, but that’s my intention.
Good luck Jagera, and I hope I can join you somehow!”
